All naturists who are on holidays in Gran Canaria know about it: The famous nudist strip between Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas.
With the scenic dunas de Maspalomas in your back, and the shore in front of you, it’s without any doubt one of the best places to get an all-over tan.
But maybe you want to get naked at a quiet place without being surrounded by too many other naturists.
As you can imagine, the resorts in the south of Gran Canaria are always full of people. So are the official nudist zones.
(By the way, nudism is totally legal on all beaches but you can’t expect tolerance from everyone who’s not a naturist. So, use the special marked nudist zones around the island for not getting into trouble)
If you’re someone who loves to relax naked on hidden beaches only the locals know how to find, here are some places you have to visit:
The Medio Almud beach between Tauro and Amadores is one of the most popular nudist beaches on the island.
Smooth waves, and a mixture out of pebbles and sand makes this beach a paradise for naturists.
You easily reach this hidden bay by car, or bus. We recommend wearing bathing shoes when going into the sea. Though the beach itself is easy to walk on, you find bigger stones inside the water.
You find this beach between Maspalomas and Arguineguin following the old road along the coast. Pretty famous as a hippie and campers beach, it’s also one of the hotspots for naturists in Gran Canaria.
With a huge sand dune in your back, you will get enough privacy for a naked sunbath. (Remember that the island’s beaches are overcrowded during the weekends.)
Don’t tell anyone, but there’s lots of sun in the north of Gran Canaria. Though the locals call the capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria “Mordor”.
While it’s true that the north of Gran Canaria has more clouds, it’s just half of the truth. Because the other half is perfect weather conditions for getting naked at beaches in the north.
Just check the weather before heading to the north. Because on sunny days, the following two beaches are the perfect location for a complete suntan.
You’ve probably seen the island on a map. So you know about northern extremity of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Half of the peninsula “La Isleta” is closed military area. But the other half is a natural area with relax zones, walking routes, some ancient caves, and also a nudist area.
Park your car somewhere close the north end of the Las Canteras beach and follow the shore to the north. After a 15 minutes walk you reach the peninsula and can walk down to the beach using the path alongside the cliffs.
Follow the wooden boardwalk until its end. This is the place for the nudists. Besides on weekends, you will have the place for you alone. Which is great as the tiny sandy beach’s only a few meters wide.
The scenery around you will be impressive. You have a wonderful view over the complete Playa de Las Canteras, Gran Canaria’s north coast, and the mountain in your back.
Another beach ideal for naturists is La Playa de la Laja. After passing the shopping centers “Las Terrazas and “El Mirador” watch out a huge green statue (Triton) on the right side. This is where you need to take the exit to get to the beaches’ parking.
Walk down to the beach and search for a quiet place. For sure you will find a cozy place half way down the north end of La Laja between some bigger rocks.
In case you see the red flag (swimming forbidden), follow the shore for around 300 meters. You will reach natural swimming pools where you can take a refreshing bath. But don’t use the natural pools naked.
Now you’ve got four possibilities to getting a suntan all around your saucy bits.
Of course, those aren’t the only beaches for getting naked. Gran Canaria offers over 80 beautiful beaches all around the island. Including some hidden beaches only the locals know how to find.
So, get your car from us and enjoy the unknown places of your holiday destination.
